Meet Sean

Sean Henry Miller is a nonprofit leader, an Adjunct Professor at NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, and a proud union member. His career in public service began as a teacher and coach, then as an administrator at Princeton University. At the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice, he helped drive policy changes to improve education, secure immigrant rights, combat racism, and expand LGBTQIA+ inclusion. At YaLa Young Leaders, he supported students around the world. As an educator and policy expert, he has seen firsthand how hard families work to provide for their kids. Sean has helped deliver policy wins for New Yorkers, from more affordable healthcare to higher education, housing, creating jobs, and expanding workforce opportunities. He’s spent over a decade taking on tough fights for students, workers, and families.

Our Priorities

Sean Henry Miller is running to make Queens more affordable and secure for working families across the World’s Borough.

  • Sean has spent his career in schools and working with students at every level. In Albany, Sean will fight to make quality K-12 education accessible for all students and families, regardless of their income or background. Teachers and staff from pre-K to K-12 to higher education deserve great recognition, benefits, and pay.

    He will also fight to

    • make CUNY free, the way it used to be,

    • expand early childhood education,

    • create and fund universal childcare

  • Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, but corporations, increased operating costs, and rent spikes are making it harder than ever for “Mom and Pop” shops to survive. That’s why Sean will fight for policies that protect small businesses and support our local economy. This includes business-friendly incentives for building owners who invest in their local communities and rent regulations for beloved community establishments.

  • Whether you’re a homeowner, renter, or small business owner, the affordability crisis is impacting us all. In Albany, Sean will be a champion for all of those who live in New York or call Queens their home. This includes fighting for tax relief for struggling working class homeowners, building more affordable housing, supporting social housing, a “Mitchell Lama 2.0”, and expanding rent-to-own opportunities.

  • Sean is a nonprofit leader who has advocated in Albany to eliminate medical debt for New Yorkers. He will use that experience to fight for better healthcare for all families - expanding coverage, eliminating co-pays, more mental health providers and affordable mental health care, investing more in primary care, and capping prices on routine medical services and procedures. Sean supports the New York Health Act, Coverage for All, expanding Essential Plan access, and bringing costs down. Healthcare is a human right. The cost of treatment should never be the reason someone doesn’t get the care they need.
